Hi,
My name is tom and im from sweden,
Last year i bought a Rockrider 6.3 from decathlon http://www.btwin.com/en/all-mountain-mt ... er-63.html, (dont ask me, it was a stupid buy since the 5.3 woulda been so much better. The 6.3 is bumpy as shit and the forks are killing me. I know quality from bikes since i bought an very top of the line Echo trials bike as i also do some trials.
What i want to do with mtb is biking in the forest, both where you almost cant walk and where trails are.
26 or 29 doesnt matter, kinda the same after riding them both at the local shop.
well im a student and moneys kinda short, but ive got around 600 quid or 700 Euros i want to spend on a bike.
I cant buy at halfords since they dont do us swedes, but almost everything else is fine.
But my first question is, am i better of just buying a new bike or should i buy a new frame&parts and combine with stuff from the 6,3? Im kinda handy and i would manage with some help and tips.
Chainreaction got loads of deals on parts, thats why im thinking maybe make my 6.3 an organ donator?
Otherwise i could just buy a new bike, something like the cube acid
http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1830/ ... white.html
any tips or help is very welcome..
and oh, im sorry if my text is messy
EDIT:
And oh, im kinda curious about these 29" SS bikes, how are they in the woods?
Any pros cons?

Th 6.3 is not too bad, has some decent parts. But I'd probably buy a new bike. The Rockrider 8.1 is as good as it gets for the money, though that Cube is well priced.0

hi
the cube spec dose look nice, but have you looked at chain reaction cycles "re-cycled bikes" section?!
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Cate ... rtBy=Price
their is some nice bikes their at a bargain price but they are limited on the size, their is a
Vitus Bikes Zircon 1 Hardtail Bike 2012 rrp £949 now £649 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=93889
Ghost SE 8000 Hardtail Bike 2012 rrp £999 now £649 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=92161
Ghost SE 4000 Hardtail Bike 2012 rrp £799 now £589 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=95357
apart from that, i know you have said you dont have a halfords. but i would say a voodoo hoodoo is a great bike and with in your budget. do you have any friends or family here in the uk?? if so you could get it sent to you.
if not i would have a look at the KHS Alite & Alite 2000 http://www.khsbikes.co.uk/bikes/category/mountain-26
i was going to get the Alite 2000 before i got my boardman team pro HT. the KHS bikes have won some great awards and reviews.0
