I took a nasty spill today on a pair of Hutchinson Equinox 2's in the rain. I'm now looking to replace these with the best wet weather tyre I can get my damaged hands on. Would I be right in thinking this looks like either the
Michelin Pro4 or the Continental Grand Prix 4000S. I'm not really worried about wear / speed so much as grip until I get a little better at riding! Thanks P

24mm GP4000S or Vittoria Open Pave.

  • Thanks. The Vittoria Open Pave look just the job!

Continental 4seasons are supposed to be the best in the wet, although they are more robust than fast...
  • I use both the 4Seasons and the GP4000s (the 25mm versions), and the GP4000s is better in the wet. The 4Seasons is still good, and it has that extra puncture protection, but I'm not _quite_ as confident in the wet as on the other ones.
