Pondering going along to the bike jumble at Herne Hill tomorrow. Never been to one before so was wondering what they're like:

What sort of things are sold at jumbles and has anyone been to a Herne Hill one before? Are shops there or is it all just people selling rusty things they've dragged from their sheds?

Many thanks

It varies from jumble to jumble, there aren't really any shops there, though there are some very large stalls, with loads of bits and pieces. It's all basically NOS and used, as you'd expect from a jumble, but if you've got a retro bike, or you have a project in mind then it's good to go along and pick up some decent stuff. There is normally a big stall with loads of NOS jerseys for £5 or so, I've picked up some good quality frames from there for nominal amounts as well. It's free entry, the cyclo-cross goes on at the same time, so what have you got to lose?
