Just like to give Garmin credit for the quick and no hassle of replacing my edge 200 after I cracked the screen. I popped it into the post on the 19/12/12 and just received now :D

p.s. it cost the standard charge of £53.

  • I cracked mine when was holding my water bottle in my teeth and it fell out onto my Garmin. Cost more than £53 to get repaired.

@p1tse: my winter bike hangs above the motorbike and I went to fit the garmin and it slipped out of my hand and landed on the motorbike paddock stand.

Regarding £53 for all models. I've had a Garmin Foretrex replaced out of warranty - cost was around £46 (3-4 years ago). This is usually a replacement reconditioned unit. I've found Garmin's after sales service to be excellent. I think they've got a fairly standard charge for reconditioned replacment units.

I've so far only had positive experience dealing with Garmin, they replaced the battery cover and battery FOC when it mysteriously removed itself from my cadence and speed unit!

Their replacement service for faulty stuff is good too.

Got my H/R monitor replaced within a week or so of contacting them and talking to an adviser.

When I had my 705 I sent it back four times and had it replaced FOC each time, when it died for the last time they couldn't say when they were getting more stock of 705s so offered a free upgrade to an 800 :D
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Can't remember exactly but I think it was internal circuitry not working, it would charge but not upload data.
