I would choose one that holds air. It improves speed, comfort and everything!

as a newbie i take the inner tubes aren't as important on choices?Wanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm0 -
thick and cheap rubber tubes on commuter, valve length determined by rim profile, if space or weight is a premium, ultralite tubes which cost about twice as much, or Continental supersonics more still. There is really no one tube for all wheels and tyres, even before we start on whether you might need valve extenders and therefore may want removable valve core tubes.
Speak to LBS or buy online, Continental, Specialized, Michelin, ...Colnago Addict!0 -
You could always go tubeless.

As a racer they're important, but as a 'normal' cyclist I wouldn't choose a lightweight innertube for risk of more punctures...
