After getting a nice Christmas bonus I finally managed to make the final payment to my friend for his 2005 giant reign 2 it has been well looked after and has recently had a new fsa headset , new bearings all round, new cassette ,new chain ,blackspire stinger ,gamut bash guard and a hope bottom bracket fitted. Here is a pic of the bike as it was on Tuesday before I started fettling :-D
I had been collecting a few parts to over the last few weeks to fit to it straight away it now has a 45mm superstar stem, answer grips, answer 720mm bars, superstar nano pedals,a 180mm front disc, slx shifters and some other superstar bling fitted to it. Ive also re decaled the forks as I hated the Nixon graphics ,painted the head tube badge to match ,generally cleaned and touched it up and ive also fitted some Hans dampfs which arnt in the pics
Im really pleased with how it looks and rides now , im just praying this rain buggers of so I can get it up chicksands for a burn;-)

Cheers:-) I reckon ive spent about £620 in total with all the stuff ive fitted since buying it. About half what ive spent on my hardtail . Really pleased with the end result , im sure im not finished yet though I really cant help myself with the fettling , especialy with the sales starting.I find working on my bikes almost as fun as riding them:-DViner

Transfered a few parts over from my hardtail as ive decided I much prefer this bike and also treated myself to some upgrades over christmas so heres a few more pics . New parts added xt brakes , rockshox reverb, slx double and bash ,180mm superstar disc on the rear and a charge spoon.

Looking good... Apart from that horrible chainstay protector lol.
How're the brakes? Kinda wish I'd of saved more and gone for these instead of the M596's even though they're loads better than my old Auriga comps.0 -
The chainstay protectors only temporary till I find one I like , it was off my hardtail colour matched that better:-P the brakes are brilliant but not much differant to the slxs on my hardtail just look more blingy:-P they were the same price as slxs in the sale so went for the xtsViner

Good work mate,The bike looks great. The gold, black and green work well together although as already mentioned that chain stay protector looks awful. Personally I would go for a black lizard skin or similar to finish the job off.Specialized Roubaix

Latest updates .replaced the old manitou swinger rear shock with a pushed rp23 seems better although wont get to give it a proper trial till monday at chicksands also replaced the old deore cassette with an slx cassette and fitted a new chain as well as giving her a clean.
pretty much finished now although I may get a medium slx rear mech still to replace the old xt one soon. Only origi al parts left now are the mech and the frame lol .rides brilliantly loads of fun.

Nice build! You've done pretty much exactly what I would have done with it. It looks (and rides i'm sure) loads better than it did before. Good job!0
