I know there is still a little over a week left of the year but just wondered if anyone had any targets? total mileage, number of rides, that kind of thing?

My distance goal was 12,000km. Thanks to the weather this "summer" I'm going to end up with a little over 11,000. Next year I'm hoping I'll have the time to do closer to 15,000km.
My main goal was to start racing, get used to riding in a bunch, and try not to crash. Somehow I stayed upright and ended up as a Cat 2, so at least those ones can be crossed off the list!0 -
good work and nice use of KM when setting targets (they seem further!!)
unfortunately i mad e it to about Spetember before my first off (involving me forgetting to tighten up my pedal after a groupset change and off it came, as did i!!) and made it to about two weeks ago before me first meeting with a car!! slow speed and me, car and bike were fine so all is good!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Nearly, just 126 miles to go to hit my 10,000 miles target this year! An increase of 1,500 miles over the last three years."You only need two tools: WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape"0

131 left here, race ya to 10,000
I am hoping that tomorrow and Monday should it done and dusted, leaving me to build up some extra mileage to add to the total till the New Year"You only need two tools: WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape"0 -
My wife and I are moving into a new house outside of town, which means I will now have a nice commute to work each day. I'm hoping to commute daily unless not possible, and keep this up all year. I also want to hit 5,000km recreationally.0

Unfortunately, my cycling year ended on the 9th. Only did 9,508 miles out of my planned 10,000 (damn). The weather in the last few weeks hasn't helped and a major accident at the beginning of the year lost me a few miles, but at least i'm still able to pedal. Going to try for 10,000 again next year which might be more doable since i've just been made unemployed (cloud, silver linings, etc).
TOTAL DISTANCE............9508.39......Per Year
AVERAGE DISTANCE........262.74......Per Week
BEST SPEED........................45.80......Overall
AVERAGE TIME...............23:03:38......Per Week

Smashed my target of 10000 miles, did 11234. Lost over 880 to work travel and illness so next years target is 12k.
Did a 2 day charity ride of 340 miles and next year I want to ride from St David's in Wales to Lowestoft non stop hopefully in under 26 hours.Dolan Preffisio

Spent most of last year on crutches so, although its a little low compared to some on here, i set my target at 3000 miles this year. Just got it at the start of December which is good cause i had a fall and haven't rode since.
Will be upping it next year though.0 -
My target was 3660 miles for the year, 10 miles per day. I finished it earlier this month Just past the 6000km now. You can only do what you can do.0

Completed the Metric Century Challenge for the third year in a row so pleased with that. Had half-heartedly wanted do a minimum of 2500 miles this year but never set up a plan to achieve it so funnily enough I didn't...
Fail to plan, plan to fail; as I would get told at work... with the time I have off I should be breezing 4000 a year, just need to be more organised.0 -
All my targets went out of the window as of the first week of January 2012 due to work commitments. Have done less cycling this year than probably any of the last 15 years. As a resuly i,m about 8 Kgs heavier than this time last year. However the coming year looks promising, no travelling abroad for work till May (at least thats the plan) plus the fact that my 15 year old Son now wants to take up cycling seriously and start going on runs with me which i,m looking forward to very much. We had a few runs out this year but no more than 40Kms, again due to work we never got out as much as i would have liked.

Started the year without a target; just to get out and ride as much as possible and join a club, which I've done. A mate suggested we ride Wales end to end in day, route was a total 195 miles, I agreed (much to my amazement) so that certainly focused the mind. Did it in late Sep, went really well especially the hills which was my main concern. Now I'm thinking about working towards racing next year.0

Thats it, job done, 10,021.81 miles"You only need two tools: WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape"0

I only started cycling in May this year but decided to set myself a target of 3,000 miles for the rest of the year. I am at 2,905 today so should just about make it. Particularly pleasing is that I am at 279,000 ft of ascent, rather less pleasing is my average speed (about 13mph but at least it is increasing  )0
-
It wasn't a target, inasmuch as I wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd missed it, but I aimed for 8784 miles this year. You might wonder why that total, but 366x24=8784 so I managed 1 mph throughout the (leap) year.
Actually I've done around 9300 miles now.0 -
Wanted to do 5000 non commuting miles this year, currently on 5087 so very pleased with that. Also resolved to chain gang with stronger riders, and to commute single speed. Both were, and still are hard work, but I see the benefits on club runs and events. One goal I didn't manage was to ride the Stelvio...that will still be there for next year.0

I set 3,000 miles at a 25kmph average.
I'll end up at about 2,750 miles and 25.2kmph average so i'm pretty happy, especially as i didn't have my bike for 6 weeks in June.
Goals for 2013
3,650 miles (10 miles per day)
25.7 kmph average (16mph)
Ride some of the Tour of Flanders route and an HC alpine climb

Very impressed with the targets and achievements recorded above. Work and family life have a major impact on cycling goals - I guess that's why we have to set them, or 'normal' life will just take over!
Had a few separate targets this year; overall was for total mileage not less than 6,000 miles, which I'm just about to complete (this Saturday I reckon). I also wanted to ride 4 'sportives' - in the end managed only 3, so need to re-commit for next year. I also had a goal to ride 4 'century' rides, and here I did fail miserably, managing only one. Lots of 'reasons' why I didn't manage to complete all goals, but again, that's why we set targets I guess!
May you all have a fantastic year of cycling and riding in 2013.
Good luck.Raymondo

Set a target of 2500 miles for the year (previous highest was last year at 2051) and currently at 3007 having hit the target on Christmas Day. Stopped at that point to drink in the moment and saw 3 rainbows in the sky.
Amazed that nobody on this thread has said it yet, so I'll say it first..

That's me just finished 2000 miles on the road (quite a few more on the turbo). I'm hoping to do 3000 next year. None of mine is commuting, and I work 6 days a week, and with a busy family life of 3 kids - I feel I have done quite well. Only been riding since April!0
