avid elixir 5 brakes help

Hi all new to mtb just got a second hand fuji Nevada but the bike had no pads in front just been out and fitted new ones but there are no brakes any idea what i need to do to get them to work cheers leighton

Maybe the caliper has seized

The lever moves ok and you can hear what i think is air in the cable so just took it all apart pull lever and no fluid came out and i think it could be empty any more ideas

I think have answered your own question....no fluid = no brakes

Seems a bit strange to have no fluid at all in the hose but you'll need to buy a bleed kit - www.epicbleedsolutions.com are brilliant and cheap - fill the hose with fluid, and then bleed it.

After searching the net and investigating calipers i found out one of the piston are missing so priced up parts plus bleed kit so i decided to buy another set of brakes off the forum and will be listing the elixir 5s on this forum cheers for the help guys

Pistons don't just go missing! WTH?

Photo just to be sure you really do have a gaping hole in the caliper!

They can if you take the wheel off the pads out and play pull the lever.
