Rigid Tyres - How to post?

I've got some brand new gatorskins I'm going to offer for sale in the New Year (once the Christmas post has settled) and am wondering what is the best way to post them to a buyer. They originally came to me from Merlin Cycles twisted into a figure of 8 but within a box with other stuff. I don't have the box anymore, so does anyone know the best way to send rigid tyres by post?

Would prefer to try a post bag if they would be strong enough. I just have visions of the tyres suddenly bursting free in a postmans van. I guess parcel tape should be strong enough to hold the figure of 8.0

Brighten up the postmans round and wrap them up as they are so the option to hula hoop them up the garden path is there0

I've had tyres delivered where they'd simply stuck the address and postage label around the tyre. Figure-8 in a strong, plastic mailing bag is strong enough IME - had lots of tyres delivered that way.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Rubble sacks are good and strong for this sort of thing (figure 8 tyres); cost about 30p each.0

Rubble sack is a great idea, as may have a couple in the garage and never even thought about using them. Thanks+0

Hold the tyre in one hand and bring opposing sides together and keep them together in one hand.
Tyre should now form a semi-circle of it's own accord, grab one of the loops that for the end of the U and fold it towards the hand holding the two sides, you should now have a tyre in the form of three loops, now align them so that they are all on top of one another and you should end up with something like this.
With a bit of fiddling you can get the tyre to hold itself in place with no tape etc. The tyre in the image is a 700x32 CX tyre.
Watch a video of what I've tried to explain above.
