Hi all,

Having trouble getting frame spares for boardmans???..

I have a bolt that has sheared and needs replacing, so I go into Halfords an they say yeah no problem that is £129.00.
After picking myself of the floor, and reply " I only need 1 bolt for the chain arm". Which then Halford man says ah you have to buy the complete Bearing kit!.

Surely this is a mistake?.

I am now waitng for a reply from Halfords Tech help...

Can anyone else help?...

IIRC they're only available in the catalogue as part of the full rebuild kit, but they can be supplied separately as a special order- saw this on another forum.

  • Well guys, a chap called Andy from Halfords customer services has emailed me back.......

He says it is only available as a re-build kit, but has found the bolt I need and is sending it to me FOC.

    Now that is service...

Just FYI the original batch of those bolts come loose, new ones are different and have a longer thread. They have tonnes of the new bolts at Head Office, just a shame the shop didn't think to phone around and ask a few people.

After me pushing the shop did and called me back today saying they are getting me one. Also had an email again from Andy at tech saying he is sending 2. So I will have 3 now.....lol

You'll have four, unless they keep the spare.

When you look at them side by side you'll understand why they've changed it.
