Rock shox reverb

Hi
I'm a newbee and I've got a question regarding the rock shox reverb. I bought one for my GT I-Drive I've fitted it and love it. But the bottom of the post is exposed because the frames seat tube doesn't go right down to the bottom bracket. I want to some how protect the bottom of the post from the elements. What would you suggest??
I have tried a bit of old inner tube over the bottom, however the post blows out air when it goes down and sucks air in when it goes up. So this hasn't really worked.
Any other ideas??
Cheers
Andrew

The first thing that springs to mind would be to try and stick some moto foam up there.0
