May yer lumb reek all day long.

    Lumb - Chimney
Reek - Have smoke spewing out of it on account of the fact that you have enough money to keep yourself warm.

Well, NO. Thats putting lots of CO2 and whatever else into the atmosphere.

    "Look before you leap".

    Disclaimer :
    1. Leaping is carried out at own risk.
    2. A full and comprehensive risk assessment must be carried out and looking is the responsibility of the leaper.
    3. Earlier successful leaping does not guarantee that future leaps will be successful.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Sowing up a hole in your clothes when it's small will save you 9 stitches over waiting for it to get bigger and then repairing it.

When was the last time you got out the sowing kit to repair a hole in your clothes? Just buy another Chinese import instead.

  • You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.

Pencils are made from carbon not lead :)

pencils are a combination of finely ground graphite and clay, bicycles are carbon, pencils actually are water soluble :D

Graphite is a form of Carbon. As is the wood that surrounds the "lead" :)

"A little bit of dirt never hurt anybody."

Unless you've sat by the karzee over Christmas with the Norovirus. I haven't BTW, but it's picked up with frightening ease.

Due to too many countries not sticking to EU fishing quotas and the the damage caused to remaining stocks I'm not sure there is.
