Genesis Croix De Fer upgraded

  • Thinking of getting an equilibrium disc. Any views on what to sell this for?

Not a good idea IMO... the only problem with the CdF is the flexy forks, the rest is brilliant... the Equilibrium disc has an even flexier set of forks... if you want to upgrade this, get a bike with a set of solid carbon forks... Fugio for instance or something from another make... Alternatively get some Kinesis carbon fork for the CdF and job done

  • Has to do mudguards for the commute so rules the fugio out. So it's either new fork or kinesis pro 6 in sick green. Have to say don't mind the flexi fork though!!

Then keep the CdF... it's a good bike... I frankly don't experience any difference between the 725 CdF and the 853 Fugio frame... stiffness and all that stuff, I don't get any of that... the fork is the only real difference, together with a different, racier geometry

  • I probably will. Mind, I do quite like the look of the Synapse Ultegra Disc

  • Integrated headset, BB30, they're just there to give you grief... you ride the thing in bad weather... not a good combination... the cannondale brakes... are they any good?

  • No idea, it's probably just me musing at the moment. I will, in all probability, keep chugging on with it!

Nice bike, I like it. Personally I think it looks quite a lot better with the mudguards on.
  • They almost never come off now!

  • I'm tempted to buy an equilibrium disc aswell, only £466 for the frame set at the moment http://www.ukbikesdepot.com/products.php?show=11761

I've got an Equilibrium at the moment and like the geometry, Just need to decide if i need disc's in my life.

I say go for it if you fancy a change, is the equilibrium much lighter than you currant bike?

  • Dunno why I was even contemplating selling it, particularly when commuting has to deal with this:

I've been offered an Ultegra 6750 chainset which was surplus to requirements - I assume this can be fitted to my Croix de Fer 2014 model apart from the brakes?

    Cheers

Did you mean groupset? Yes. You'll need a Shimano BB unless one is already provided. But if you already have Shimano on there, no new BB needed.

Yeah, at the moment their on the top of my "when I have the money" list. Looks like the perfect bike at the moment. Full custom carbon, understated but interesting.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

No, for the bike as you see it with Di2, hydraulic brakes and Enve rims it's 10 grand in pounds, give or take

Should be fine. I think you have Tiagra on there already?
