Fork sizing advice

Hi all
I'm working my way through a road bike build - my first road bike - and I'm doing my best to research as much as possible beforehand, but I am just a bit nervous about fork buying.
I've bought a headset and had it installed ( Cane Creek 40 Series ZeroStack 1 1/8 Inch Headset ) and I'm assuming from the sizes in the description that I need forks with a steere tube that are 1 1/8 in diameter to fit ....... but I am nervous about ordering in case I get the wrong size.
I would be grateful if somebody could put me out of my misery and confirm for me - I know it's a complete novice question, but I am a complete novice with no bike building experience ( plenty of enthusiasm, but no experience, a dangerous combination )
Thank you
