You do get a free flight and accommodation to see a race of your choice next year.. still not worth the full 22k but it's something.
  • Mentalist. But how much would you value it at? 5k?

You do get 5,000 Nectar points too. That should clinch the deal!

£22,000 for a well used, high mileage Chinarello?
  • These bikes were available to team Sky newsletter subscribers on a private auction site. Around £3000 minus wheels. Although I know someone who got a Graal with Di2 for about £2000!! So it seems some people are making a good profit out of it.

The Graal was in good condition but well used though with things like front and rear dropouts filed to speed up wheel changes and no spares for aero bars adjustment.

For 22k I'd expect to be getting one of the Jaguar team cars. Never mind a bike. Way too much money IMO. The Wiggins bike for 10k a few months back was reasonable in comparison.

Hmm, he's never sold anything on ebay, only ever bought. Dodgy! P.S Nectar points are pants, 5000 will probably buy you a CD or something!
  • You can buy a Garmin rider’s 2012 season Cervelo S5 with full Dura Ace for $4000. Comes with a warranty and free world wide postage too.
  • christ 2k for a grall Even with no modifications I would have had it and stuck it on the lounge wall! I emailed the guy and he said he would let me have it for only £15K Must be my lucky day.

    Where from?

I note they've changed the wording to a 'waiver'. No idea what's in it but I think for that price they're still well worth a punt.

I missed out on an unused R3 frame for $1500. Gutted.
  • That's a great find, always wondered what the pro teams do with old bikes. For example this one is my size http://www.shopslipstreamsports.com/gar ... m-of2.html with rotor crankset - would be about 1850 gbp in the end, worth it?

It's not a rip off, nor is it a bargain imo.

As with most things, It only costs 22K to whoever is stupid enough to pay it.

So true. Have seen some horror stories of ex Sky bikes being sold as slight scuffing whereas they are properly damaged and no refunds given.

The bikes are hammered, intended to get them through the next race, not a whole season. Riders training bikes are even worse. One example basically required a total overhaul, every bearing replaced and new wheels. Not such a bargain and definitely not a collectors item.
