Photo Editing photoshop Etc

Sorry to post it here but this is the biggest read section.

I want to adjust some of my photos to print out, and have an old copy of Photoshop that I was using a few years back and mastered about 1% of it but I have since lost the activation code for it. Any good programmes out there anyone can recommend? Dont need anything fantastic just somethign to make the pics look better and be able to put some good filters on etc.

Free or paid for ones not too fussed. Dont want to buy PS again though.

I've got Gimp on mine but I'm still yet to work out how to use most of the features, probably makes sense to a photoshop user though.

Surprised nobody mentioned Picasa which is free through Google. Does most things and easy to use

Lightroom.

It is designed for pro photographers and has much of the best of Photoshop in it, at far less cost. It is an excellent bit of software.

thanks i downloaded gimp and its pretty much PS if you go on you tube and put gimp tutorials there is some great ones although frustraingly the best ones seem to be by a kid who seems about 12 years old! makes me feel old
