So i been trying to get some tickets for sumerset house ice skating for me and GF but ive found out they are all sold out!!!

so from 17th dec all the way through all the tickets are gone, bar the 12:00 ones, which too early given wanted to make a night out of it at the very least..

Any suggestions of anywhere else to go that is nearly as good?

Nah, nothing much ever happens in London.
You could go and look at the queen's house.

well, we (me and the family) skated yesterday at Ice at the Tower (Tower of London). Booked it mid week. There is often a rink at greenwich as well.

Er. Queensferry. They have an ice rink, and a nearby go-kart track. And it's just down the road from Rhyl.
What more could you possibly want? Imagine going for a romantic crimbo stroll down Rhyl seafront. Nice romantic (dark) lighting due to all the broken illuminations, and kicking through used hypodermics, which, if you think, is kind of like trampling through snow, or thick autumn leaves on the ground.
  • Decided to go for tower of london,

Any good recommendations for nice places to eat nearby? i

there is a costa coffee, starbucks, wagamamas and subway very near! Other option is to croos over the river via tower bridge and there are lots of restaurants between there and london bridge along the riverside and Tooley street.

well, in the one evening we visited the costa, subway and starbucks and all were worse than their usual standards, which is why we visited so many - but we were hungry so settled on costa for a quick bite. Wagamamas are usually fine, haven't tried this one though.
  • Usual standards? 2 coffee shops and a burger place - what were you expecting?

Wagamama has always been good food in my experience - love the place. However if busy they can get noisy and may not be ideal for a romantic date (if that is what is intended)

With the whole of London to choose from, a couple of shonky chains is a somewhat limited choice.

well he did say nearby so in my mind that means a quick walk, no tube or bus, if the tower is still open the cafe/restaurant in there is nice and a great location. Restaurants in central london are usually over priced if good (and price is no guarentee of quality either) and most are just run of the mill. If I was with the family it would be wagamamas, otherwise if just me and my wife I would cross the river and head to Tooley Street.
