Born of age of enthusiasm for adventure. In the imaginations of how many children did he inspire a love of all things spacey. A fine man.
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

  • Such a personality, and his enthusiasm for his subject never waned. He's been looking old and frail for quite some time, but no less sad that he's gone for all that.
    Is the gorilla tired yet?

I have a telescope because of Patrick Moore. A truly exceptional TV presenter.

Hopefully Chris Lintott will get the Sky At Night job.

I wanted to call a band Zodiacal Dust Cloud after Brian May's thesis.

  • He was a bit of a card was our Patrick - I remember on TV once he railed against authority and bureaucracy and said that when he had to send official forms off etc (tax, bank stuff and the like) where on the letter it had 'Don't write here - for office use only" he would rub a candle - obviously meaning it couldnt be written on at all - anarchy the P Moore way.
