Hi all
I've recently bought a 2nd hand 2011transition bottle rocket and having spent the day at Forest of Dean uplift today, I've found the forks are bottoming out lots and I expect the springs are too soft (I also loose around 2" of travel as soon as I sit on the bike)
I'm around 82kgs, so I'm guessing I need a harder spring, but my question is does anyone know the right part for this is, what I should expect to pay and the best place for it please ?
That's assuming that is what the problem is ?
Thanks in advance for your advice
Cheers
Graeme

Great, cheers
Have ordered a firm fixed length domain spring though these guys, so fingers crossed0 -
Hi there,
Just curious - how much was the spring?
I have been keeping my eyes open for 160mm domain springs too. I suspect I need a firmer one but I havent really looked into it properly (not sure which grade I have now!). I have been meaning to phone TF TuneD for a while.
I also saw somewhere that the spring is the same in the 160mm as it is in the 180mm...just that the spring assay is different. No idea if that makes sense though!

I had the same fork. It's worth getting a Motion Control cartridge for it. They are relatively cheap and simple to fit.
At the moment you have no compression damping so the fork blows through the travel with little control the motion control compression damper will keep it much more controlled.
The spring is the same length for 160mm & 180mm.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Already done the MoCo upgrade, made a huge difference, loads more controlled...especially on rocky steps/bouldery terrain. Good stuff.
Good to know about the spring length too, ta.Lapierre Spicy 316 2012
