The cheaper end of the market pre discount tend to be a little heavier and less stiff than the pricey competition, but it's not always noticeable,
find yourself a chair with arms and sit with relaxed arms, get othr half or friend to measure the width of your hands to give you a rough starting point,
Check out the usual suspects for last year's or '10's bargains, you can often get bothbars and stem for what you would have paid for just the bars!Timmo.

I find the heavier ones to be stiffer as use thicker gauge tubing.0

Which bars did you use on your xc pro?0

They are Kalloy, 660mm - just OE stuff found on many bikes.
How much do you want to spend? Are you heavy or particularly hard on parts?0 -
Spend wise as little as possible as if I don't like the set up I can change it easy enough can't decide what length of stem to get? I'm. 13 stone so nit too heavy0

What Is the on one stuff generally like? They have a supposed sale at the moment and there stems seem to get good reviews0

On-one stems are good, same generic forged stem as the cheapest Superstar and others sell, I have had a bout 6 stems which were all the same metalwork under the paint/logo's, they are light and strong and reliable.
Why not buy used? even a good quality nearly new one will be a lot cheaper and if you sell it on you're only out the P&P!
