Ive just had a browse and my my there are some interesting posts regarding new users who are trying to sell kit.

It seems there are quite a few concerns (rightly or wrongly) from various members that these new/fresh posters could be scammers.

Would it not make more sense that people wishing to sell equipment on this forum have to have a minimum post count before they are able to list in the Classifieds firstly to show that they have contributed to the forum and more importantly so that members can get acqauinted/familiar with the username.

On other Forums im a member of you have to have atleast 50 posts before your able to start selling goods.

  • They did try a 20 posts or more type of thing - trouble is genuine buyers couldnt even PM the sellers.

Thing is a scammer is a scammer no matter how many posts you have. A few years aback a few got ripped off from a tw4t in scotland who had quite a few posts. Not sure if there is a solution, tbh, other than to be uber careful

    How?

if people are stupid enought to pay by gift then that is their problem.

    +1

If it's a buyer/seller with only a couple of posts to their name then surely the couple of quid in Paypal fees (and posting using a service requiring a signature) is worth it. Obviously a long time poster could be a scammer, but it's less likely.
    More problems but still living....
