Flat bar winter road/cx bike - using MTB parts?

Hi
Is it possible to build up a commuter/winter road/CX Flatbar bike using parts from a MTB (Deore Gears/Tektro Hydraulics, handle bar, stem, seat post - taken from RockHopper SL 2010).
I would be looking to source a cyclo cross/touring frame with disc mounts, and disc wheels - then migrate the parts over from my older MTB.
What will/wont work? BB size may be an issue, I presume the disc mounts are a standard fit?
The other option is to sell on the now redundant MTB.

Thanks
What do you mean by "got the bike?" the bike I may consider taking parts from is a Spesh RH SL, I dont haveany frame/wheels for the new build - YET.0 -
Check your frame geometries - frames designed to run a drop bar have a shorter toptube (about 50mm less) than a comparable size MTB i.e. putting flat bars on a road bike frame can results in a pretty upright position. Similarly, MTB frames can feel pretty ponderous on the road due to slacker frame angles.
No problem using MTB parts on the proviso that the frame is designed for a 135mm rear QR hub and has disc brake tabs. Frame-wise, hybrid frames can be found a lot cheaper than comparable quality MTB or CX frames.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -

Thought so, could be my next project.0
