The coir door mats a good idea - will have a look at those.
My sofa is still being scratched to death. She knows she's being naughty by scratching it now, so if I shout she'll stop or she gets squirted with water. She's now waiting until i'm eating dinner, carrying stuff etc and then scratching it knowing that I can't get to her in time to zap her - what a hilarious game :roll:
Mind you, that is one of the reasons I love cats - they know right from wrong etc but just aren't that bothered by it
