Cycling guide books Lonely Planet

I've looked at the Lonely planet cycling guide to britain and am hoping to use it to plan myself a few days cycling away around easter time 2013. Has anyone else used the routes in this book, did or didn't like it, or if there are any other books you prefered.
I'm new to road biking and have previously used this book on a few rides whilst I was at uni (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/190614818X/? ... 190614818X) I found it pretty good and helpful.
