Up to 40 mins recording time makes the cheap one useless.
    More problems but still living....
  • The technology is so advanced compared to one I bought about four years ago so the more up to date the better when buying would be good advice.

Kinda depends on what you want it for though doesn't it?

Where does it say that? On the contrary, it states this:
The Helmet Camera doesn’t limit your recording time either. You choose how much space you’ll need by inserting your own SD card.

 The spec in the Amazon link says "Battery life - up to 40 mins hours recording time"

I mean, sure you could take a pocketful of AAA cells and try and remember to swap them over every half hour or a bit more. But that's not any kind of practical solution.
    Is the gorilla tired yet?

Some of these specs don't make any sense to me:

If you look at my blog (the 100 hills one) - the early videos were taken with a MUVI replica that had a similar recording standard to one of these. The later videos were taken with a Contour HD (similar to the Go Pro). Difference is marked

I have recently found items on Amazon where the description doesn't match the actual item. The text seems to have been a cut and paste from another advert. I'll see if I can find the item as an example.
