Seems a bit pointless to me - would be really distracting.

my isetta is a 300cc bike
  • It's a novel approach to rider visibility, I'm not sure how effective it would be in the urban environment on wet nights when there are a lot of reflections of various light sources already but maybe being green helps to get the drivers attention.

if enough people used them it'd probably make things worse

imho good front/rear lights, wearing reasonably visible clothing, and avoiding filtering/undertaking would be a safer approach

Thanks for link. I'm intrigued by the startup bit, so we are all turning into Dragon's?

A green light is novel. I like the red laser beams that a few rear lights are shining out to give overtakers an idea of how much room to give.

But in the urban, lit up environment, I'm not sure how well it will stand out.

I expect that there will be plenty moer ideas in the coming months as some people try to cash in on the 'bike craze', hopefully they won't swamp the really good ideas.

I took me a while to even make out what the symbol was supposed to be, for the first couple of glimpses it looks like the business end of this chap is preceding the bike...

I suppose it's due to the distortion of shining it onto an angled plane. It would make more sense to have the image distorted so that it shines true when it's on the ground.

As others have said thought, it can't see it helping much.

Yep, Emily is gorgeous. Much nicer than that Balding slapper.

  • Hey it's a great stadium and I'm very proud to be a season ticket holder, there.
  • that light thing doesnt look very good especially paying £60 for one, i think a decent torch would do

What a coincidence, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that Clare Balding had been to Brighton as well and she also did something with lazers I think.

Bringing the game* into disrepute - yellow card

*by game I mean Claire Balding and by disrepute I mean making me think of her naked surrounded by dry ice, in a thong dancing to 'the carnival is over'

    Good idea.

not worthy of starting her own company just to sell it though...
Should probably just sell the rights to existing bike light manufacturers.
  • Not a bad idea but with everyone in London using one I bet it would end up like a Groove Armada Glasto display. Do you think it could end up being a distraction to drivers?

I was a bit disappointed in Kim the bus driver. He definitely wouldn't turn left if he saw a little green bike dancing on the road but would quite happily swing his Leyland Atlantean into the path of any cyclist foolhardy enough to rely on just 500 lumens to light their way and signal their presence

I did like the nice lady though and will probably pledge my support.
