Hi all

As i don't want to use a karcher on my bike i have had an idea to use one of those fence panel sprayers that you pump yourself and spray (5 litre ones).
Does anyone use these and if so are they effective in removing fresh mud/grime?

I have thought of this as it may save me some time after a ride during cleaning.
Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

They're alright, know a couple of people that use them. One of those and a sponge at the end of the trail and your bike will be pretty clean.

Same as the 5L weedkiller cans, yes they work quite well, also by doing it before heading home when mud is fresher it comes off easier in many places!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Been using a garden spray for years in the winter........like the guy says do it when you finish you ride and the mud comes off easier.
  • I use one of these... more than enough pressure to clean a bike.

  • I have used this sort of thing:

Band Q do its own make that is green or blue for 8.98 - You can clean one bike with one tank and a sponge pretty well. Could not find the link though

I did buy one of the panel sprayers but found it too unwieldy to use without it falling all over the place, as you then need one hand for the spray bit, onae hand to hold the sprayer and another for the sponge. And you look a bit of a tit trying to use it!

  • ive been using the garden sprayer for ages, i wouldent dare use a pressure washer and i hate to see people at my local sherwood pines pay and use it.

    i have a large 8ltr sprayer this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310400911025? ... 1438.l2649

i use this and fenwicks after every ride and then wipe it dry before i use GT40 on a microfiber cloth to wipe over my frame.

 and yes i love my bike

Great for the back of the car of you catch muck wet, still need a brush though tbh.
