Is it a new thing now, to when you buy an item an receive it. open the cardboard box it was shipped in to find 4,000 adverts from other companies for wine an stuff?

just opened a Nexus7 box from ebuyer an there was 11 fliers inside for wine, showers (wtf?!) , sainsburys, Virgin money etc...
