My opinion based on two pairs of Launch Pros is that the L/XL would fit the majority of the adult male population the range of adjustment is huge. I'm a burly 6'2" with thighs like tugboats and they are a great fit

The S/M are noticeably smaller, aimed more at ladies and youths
  • Im only 16 and quite thin so i am just wondering if s/m will be small enough

    There's a sizing chart here: http://www.allsportprotection.com/Fox_L ... ox0016.htm (scroll down a bit)
    and here: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/produ ... HNR_CC0002

The sizing for the L/XL is spot-on.

Fox's measurement for the top opening is 20 cm above the knee I think you would be fine with S/M but bear in mind they do slacken off with wear as the neoprene and the elastic in the straps stretches.

You're a bit smaller than me and I have s/m knee pads which fit perfectly and medium elbow pads which are too big. Get s/m knee and small elbow
