Puncture resistant tyres for defy 1 - do I need them?

I'm due to pickup my defy 1 next week. The tyres that come with it (giant's own P-R3) are supposed to have some puncture resistance. Are they worth keeping or should I get some better puncture resistant tyres for this time of year (and if so, any recommendations?)

The PR3s are fine if its puncture resistance you want.. I had them on for 1200 miles with no punctures (then the rear tyre bulged out).0

I think the Defy 1 is completely puncture proof all over so it should be fine.0

Schwalbe durano plus are awesome, if a little heavy. They get pretty good reviews all round if you decide to indulge...0

Done over 100 miles on my new Defy 1 so far with no problems...and I've ridden over plenty of rubbish!0

Agreed. I think there's next-to-knack-all difference a "puncture proof", tyre has over a non-pp tyre; it merely comes down to (bad) luck whether you gonna puncture or not.
Better tyres will cut-up less, and grip better etc, but I don't put much belief in one tyre over another when it comes to puncture proofing.0
