Mel & Kim (Smith & Wilde) or The Jetts?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

My favourite genre of music as it picks me up more than any other these days.

It changes every year but just now it seems to be 'This ain't New Jersey' by Smith and Burrows.

I downloaded some new Christmas songs at the weeked and as i was walking to the train station this morning, I was listening to a track about a family giving their dying child an early Christmas as he wasn't going to live to see it.

I'm glad it was dark as tears were peeing down my face as i was listening to it.
You shall not pass! (Unless I'm knackered then I don't really care tbh)

+1 for me to a healthy blast of cynicism and (slowed down) Prokofiev.

All Quiet on the Western Front by Elton John. No one ever plays it, perhaps it's not as good as I remember

I was surprised to see that the most played song on my itunes, out of all the god knows how many thousands, is 'The little boy that Santa Claus forgot'. I used to wind up the kids with it and it now gets requested by them. Imagine Nat King Cole in a polo neck crooning....
He's the little boy that Santa Claus forgot
And goodness knows, he didn't want a lot
He sent a note to Santa
For some soldiers and a drum
    it broke his little heart
When he found Santa hadn't come

In the street, he envies all those lucky boys
Then wanders home to last year's broken toys
I'm so sorry for that laddie, he hasn't got a daddy
The little boy that Santa Claus forgot
