SLX 2x10

I'm building a bike up from a frame and need help with a couple of bits. Its already got a Sram X7 2x10 front mech on it but I'm fitting Shimano SLX for the rest of it. I know I can use SLX shifters with the Sram front mech but most of the second hand ones available seem to be 3x10. Will a 3x10 SLX shifter work ok with the 2x10 Sram front mech or do I need to get a 2x10 shifter?

Ok thanks. Also will it work ok if I use a Shimano Hollowtech BB and SLX cranks instead of Sram GXP Outboard bearing BB and Sram Cranks?
