Looking at getting some new shoes with crimbo coming up. I ride downhill on flats so looking for something nice and grippy (superstar nano pedals if that's relevant). I would normally go straight for five tens but I have heard teva are the new boys on the block. anyone have any experience of them or how they compare?

  • I have never tried Impacts on a bike - they were far to bulky for me and apparently take a fair time to dry out. I have a pair of Teva's and they seem ok. Not waterproof but ok for most of the year - currently I've gone back to Shimano AM41's until there is less standing water!

Five Ten & Teva have a very different fit. Teva are narrower than Five Ten, they don't fit me at all.
Five Tens are useless in British weather, they absorb huge amounts of water.
I'm using AM41's now, they aren't quite as grippy but much more practical in UK conditions.
