So i've decided, if it ever happens I'm just gonna kick them in spuds and cycle off. Don't know of any man who can take a swift one in the plums and go 12 rounds!!!!!
This is why I wear MTB spd shoes, so I can ninjafeck them in the face with ease.
That or give me a better chance of running away.0 -
I think some people's heads go when they get into a car
A lad I work with is an avid motorcyclist. He is always ranting about car drivers, and spent a full morning telling everyone who would listen, how a female motorist had nudged his back wheel as he waited at a roundabout.
A couple of days later he was looking a little sheepish when I stopped for a chat. It turned out he had knocked a cyclist off that morning while coming to work in his car!
He soon turned it around though, saying that the cyclist was irresponsible for riding in the middle of the road - yeah, turns out the poor bloke was trying to turn right when my collegue overtook him
Apparently it's totally different on a bike and a motorbike???? :evil:0 -
Living in London and having to ride out 10-20miles before you can get to somewhere decent for riding means that I have to deal with all sorts.
Problem is, there are drivers who see cyclists as inferior to themselves.
A white van once pulled out of a side street in front of me. I'm sure he saw me because the road was clear and he looked me in the face. I anticipated the danger due to his aggressive driving. Barely missing him even though I braked. Made me realise that he just put my life in danger. I shouted at him and he took chase. Revving aggressively to try and run me over he followed me as I mounted the pavement, drove into a one way street and looped twice till the fool tried to chase me on foot.
Another driver did something similar, I was going downhill, lots of traffic going uphill, driver pulls out and fails to join upward traffic. Once again had to brake hard to avoid collision and went into side street. I went over to his car and in anger and he came out with a crow bar. I took off.
I'm a lot calmer than I was back then. I just see it as a fortunate escape and carry on. Me raging or trying to talk some sense into drivers isn't going to help (I've tried).0
