    i've clarified it. According to the Dft website, cars made before 2010 were required to have an offside mirror AND either a rearview OR nearside. so only two. From 2010 onwards you're required to have all 3.

    My first car (a 1981 X reg "French Lemon" GSA estate) only had a drivers side mirror...

    I used to be helpful and unfold passenger side mirrors. That is until I did it to one car and the whole thing came off in my hand... Now if I get the chance I just knock, LOUDLY, on the window and point out the folly of the drivers ways.
