Marin Palisades New Fork

I am looking to replace the forks on my 2006 Marin Palisades and wondered if any of you had any suggestions. It currently has the original Manitou Axel Elite 100 which are nothing special. I am looking for step up in performance but not thinking about spending silly money. Also something that matched the silver and black colour scheme would be nice.

Currently running the original Hayes Sole hydraulic disk brakes but looking to upgrade these too to something like SLX.0 -
Have a look at the RockShox Recon Silver. Some places have them for about £120.0
