Just purchased a pair of vittoria Zaffiro 2 tyres for my bike (specifically for their price) to temporarily replace the Kenda Kampaign ones that came with my bike. The new ones are the same size as my kampaign's (700x23) however when i try to fit the vittorias, they are a lot wider, and aren't very tight at all on the rim compared to my Kendas which is what concerns me. Is this something I am doing wrong in the fitting process, or should they be like that until i inflate them?

I'd inflate them and then see what they are like... Tyres will look different when the inner tube inside them is not inflated.

  • Some are an Alan B'Stard to fit and others go on without using levers - I helped a chap out at the side of the road a couple of weeks ago and was amazed how easily I got the tyre off without levers.
