ExaForm eTen Remote

Found this for E84 on Bikediscount.

From reading around I've discovered its made by KS

Has anyone any experience with it?
Is it any good or a pile of crap?

Cheers :)

Got to be worth a go at that price. Looks very similar to the KS I had and it never gave me any problems.

Looks identical to a KS to me, just without the fancy coloured bits. Got to be worth a punt at that price.

Ah, slight problem, apparently you can't turn it upside down else it won't return when lowered :s

Hard to tell from the pic, but if you had it upside down but with the lever facing forwards you might get away with it. Would mean that you had to operate the lever with your forfinger over the front of the bars so not sure how practical that would be.

These generally point down when fitted to the bars so your thumb sits comfy on it, so why would you want to turn it upside down?
  • He means flipping the bike upside down I think - someone on Singletrack said:

That can't be right can it? How do you deal with a trailside repair?

Done a quick bit of googling and think the upside down thing may just be a temporary problem should it occur. Taken from the online pdf

NOTICE TO ETEN OWNERS: The ETen and ETen Remote us an open
bath cartridge. Inverting the seatpost may cause air and oil to mix
and may result in temporary suspension action. To remedy this,
return the seat post to it’s normal position with the saddle head up
and cycle the seat post several times or wait several minutes until
the air and oil return to their normal operating positions.

This was the issue I found. And the question I thought.
