Bonded alu frame longevity.

I have a 1997 Trek ZX6500 with a bonded aluminium frame and I was wondering if anyone had any info about how long these frames last?

I don't do a lot of hard riding, but I'm around the 100kg mark. The bike has had light use in it's middle years, but I've done 800 odd miles on it this year.

Googling has turned up only vague references. I guess my main concern is the epoxy in the joints, can this get brittle after 15 years?

My ZX7000 is circa 1995. Had LOTS of tough off road use in it's day, now relegated to road hack, still perfect. I'm 85kg fully kitted out on it.

If you're the original owner and have you proof of purchase still, I wouldn't worry too much. Trek warranty is pretty good with things like this
