Hello all. I am after an adjustment block or shim to reduce the reach needed for the ST4400 levers. Plenty available for other levers, not for ST4400. I was wondering if anyone knew whether the adjustment part for the 4500 like these: http://www.petracycles.co.uk/4500-adjus ... 78853.html would fit or not, or anything else that would work instead!

if you compare the exploded view of 4400 and 4500 levers (techdocs.shimano.com) they are very different, you can't use the 4500 blocks

the 4400 instructions do not mention any reach adjustment

you might be able to change the position of levers on the bars to reduce the reach, or maybe improvise a bit of 'padding' on the top of the lever assembly so that it sits slightly further in (but make sure it can't come loose and jam the lever!)

I made some shims out of little bits of wood stuck on with insulating tape as a temporary bodge on a hire bike in Italy, where my small-handed wife was struggling with the brake lever reach.
Worked fine for a week, easy to remove before handing bike back.
