Hi all,
Has anyone seen any good black friday deals? I'm looking to grab some deals for christmas gifts...
I've seen on Storck's twitter page that they are offering 10% off their clothing website - The code is BLACKFRIDAY
http://www.storckcyclinggear.co.uk
Chain Reaction are doing 10% off orders over £100 with NET10 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/
Anyone seen any others?
Dave

According to Wiki (Ahem ..)
"Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day, most major retailers open extremely early and offer promotional sales to kick off the holiday shopping season, similar to Boxing Day sales in many Commonwealth Nations"
Amazon have been doing it in the UK for years, knocking up to 80% off some of their stuff http://www.amazon.co.uk/deals-offers-savings/b/ref=amb_link_172510187_2/277-9119616-4244461?ie=UTF8&nav_sdd=aps&node=350613011&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-B1&pf_rd_r=015MRYR48VFYK9FHGWCP&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=346874907&pf_rd_i=4682940 -
Got myslef a Garmin 310XT with a HRM today on Amazon, because I (ahem) have started doing a bit of running here and there (and I didn't want to try and strap the 800 to my wrist)0

I refuse to buy anything in a "black friday" deal. This is the UK, BF has got nothing to do with the UK whatsoever. If companies want to do a sale, then do one, but don't put some stupid american twist on it.0

I appreciate Black Friday has no relevance in the UK because we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. However if you object to stupid american twists, you can forget Santa being red, Rudolph the Reindeer and eating Turkey on Christmas day.tick - tick - tick0

The CRC Black Friday offer was already running for the past week, just without the Black Friday monicker. Hardly a special one day offer.0

Exactly this. I'm American, and I absolutely hate when people show this kind of ignorance and hate on some things, but choose to accept specific parts of the culture for their selfish enjoyment. At the end of the day you are getting better deals on something, so if saving money in a sale is such a problem, I suggest a mental evaluation.
Any sale is a good enough sale for me, whatever the reason.
Also welcome to effects of internationalism, ideas spread.0 -
Split opinon for me, if it's a good price why ignore it just because of the banner it's sold under? On the flipside I would rather not buy from Amazon as they already take enough cash from the UK.0

It would be very strange to refuse a great deal on something you want because it's in a Black Friday sale. And you are right, we should embrace ideas from other countries and cultures. Most of use a lot of French and Ialian terminology as cyclists, for example.0 -

Exactly this. People just seem to hate a place, but are happy to embrace customs from the places they "hate" if it benefits them. Backwards!0
