Hi guys, Gonna give SPD's a go for the first time, Looking at buying some cheap shoes that will last me until I work out if SPD's are for me or not.
Advice about budget shoes is muchly welcomed, The cheaper the better aslong as they're a decent enough pair.
I'm a size UK 10 by the way.

I bought a pair of these recently. Quite light and comfy but they're quite thin so don't keep your feet particularly warm.

Look out for DHB shoes in the sale (normally 10% off).

The only things will mention on this topic is do not base too much of your perception of the combo on the shoes themselves. I have found most cheap shoes to be extremely uncomfortable, and I could imagine it would be off putting if someone is the same as me.0

I have the dhb shoes: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-m10-mountai ... ling-shoe/ and found them comfortable. Also have the road version of the dhb shoe.
The Muddy Fox shoes have a very flexible sole which defeats the main benefit of clipless. However, if you are only intending to see if you like clipless £20 is not a bad option.0 -
Decathlon often have offers on shoes.....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Had tem over a year as has a mate - sling them in washing machine when battered and come out lie new - super stiff sole and very comfortable - buy a size larger than normal and you won't regret it! I paid £70 when I had them, at £40 its a total bargain!0 -

Brilliant price! I have them too and have had absolutely no problems in the last year and a bit with them! They just feel a tad heavy.0 -

I've got the DHB M1s and Lake MX85s and happy with them, bought them cause of the velcro strap fastenings though the next pair I buy will have a ratchet strap as I have to retighten the straps after the first few miles.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
