New hardtail for wife

Hi all
I'm trying to find a new bike for my wife. She currently has a Revolution Cadence Sport (for sale soon if you're interested...!) which is a bit clunky/ heavy for her (a mixture of red trails and roads/ canal paths).
We're trying to keep it under £500 but there are a couple of exclusions:
1 - I've got a Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 (which I think is a great bike for what it's worth) so she can't get one of them
2 - She doesn't like the Voodoo Hoodoo, so it's a no-go
She wants a spec similar to my Rockrider, and something fairly light. And she's only 5'4", so has to be 14"-16".
Currently looking at Scott Aspect 35 (http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b0s2p3025)
or GT Avalanche 1.0 disc (http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b0s2p3342)
Any thoughts on which is better? I'm a big fan of Scott bikes, but the GT looks slightly better spec'ed to me?? Any other suggestions welcome!
Thanks for your help

If not the rockrider then the Gt Avalanche. Good fork and kit, ahead of the Scott.0

Next you will be suggesting that they wear matching kit as well :roll:Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)
Giant Anthem X4 (2010) GT Avalanche 1.0 (2010)

Hmmm that is my wife in the photo, but she's not with me! She's got questions to answer...
Thanks for the reply supersonic, I was thinking the GT was a better bike.
Anyway...forgot to mention the third option - there's a second hand Kona Caldera for sale in my area, £350 ONO. 2010 model (spec is http://www.evanscycles.com/products/kona/caldera-2010-mountain-bike-ec021766#features). I've not seen it so don't know the condition yet, but is it worth going second hand for the better spec? Not sure how much better it is than the GT, and I'm no expert so am a bit worried about buying a dud (although I will do my research before viewing of course...)
Thanks again for your help.0 -
If it's in good condition the Caldera is a nice bike, a little overpriced at £350 I'd say, probably worth nearer £300.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
