stumpjumper 29 comp or Tallboy LT 29

I can't decide which bike to go for. I've looked at the stump jumper but wasn't impressed with the finish and know someone who has a camber with the paint already scuffing. I've always ridden specialised and love my 26' 2005 FSR, but its starting to cost more than its worth. Hence i started looking at the 29er. Then i read about the tallboy, but the nearest demo bike is on the other side of London and £50 a ride. Both are similar in price at around £3000 and i need to do it online to get the credit. So i was reluctant to pay out to demo without knowing a bit more.
Does anyone own one of these two or worked through the two spec's, because it means little to me in the finer detail.
I tend to ride xc around Herts, but go to N. Wales a lot.
What do people think of them.

Where were you looking for a demo? Moutain trax have one and its alot less than £50 a ride. They are berks based (10 mins from J10 M4) so only a quarter way round the m25. Well worth the trip for such an expensive frame for sure.A Flock of Birds
