garmin edge 500 wont charge?

Folks - my edge 500 began to show signs of not being located when connecting by usb to dowload stats,

Now it wont charge it seems dead so dont know what to do...

Any help would be appreciated...

    the first and easiest thing to try would be a new usb cable.

    Does USB port support charging ? On my laptop, not all do.
    All the gear, but no idea...

    Ive got another USB and will check tonight. It wouldnt charge on either the laptop or mains? Let you know whats happened once home.
