Hi,
As per the title what would be best for general trail/bit of everything riding ? I'm expecting people to say try both and see which works for me but would like some suggestions please.
Thanks.

What do you ride currently?
For a bit of everything the 40 would be better as it'll give you a stiffer top gear, I found 36:11 a bit spinny so 38:11 is probably too spinny as well. It is just a case of you being fit enough to give away the 26 for the 28.0 -
Personal. I'd go 40/28.0

I've 38/26 for my C456 build as looking at the ratios I lost top and bottom compared to a 3x10Trek Remedy 7

you need a poll!
I would go 38/26, I rather have the lower option.0 -
To be honest I'd probably go 28/42 actually.0

How about 39/26?0
