Phew, consider yourselves lucky prospective women bishops. Would you really want to be part of this delusionary bunch of weirdos? Now get out there and bash your bishop!

    Not men voting against women. The only all male group voting were the bishops, and they were 90% in favour of having women join them.

    You're all equal in the eyes of the Lord. You're all equal in the eyes of the church. You just can't, you know, have any power because it's not what Jesus would have wanted*.

    You don't need to be a member of the institutional Church to have faith. Let the women rise up and form their own Church of Wimmin (CoW). They did it with Wimmins' Hour, Loose Wimmin, Wimmins' Football etc.

    *According to the poorly-translated ramblings of a load of male monks and continually repeated and updated through history, taking on all the worst of society's hardline views and bearing no relation to anything that actually happened, ever.

    To be fair, it must be difficult for 'the Church'.

    On the one hand they have to try to move with the times in order to pretend continuing relevance. On the other the whole thing is based on a complete load of twaffle, nonsense and bigotry which is central to their core beliefs.

    I assume that bishops etc get some form of remuneration from the church ? So is the church not governed by the usual employment laws ?
    Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.
    Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved

    In short, no. They are exempt from the sex discrimination regulations in these circumstances. They are not alone in having an exemption iirc.

    Except this particular group of delusionary nutcases get seats in the House of Lords.

    My own view is that if they're not prepared to allow women bishops they should give up that right.
