Black Country Communions' new album - Afterglow.
Group includes Glen Hughes (ex Deep Purple), Joe Bonamassa (probably the best modern day blues/rock guitarist), Jason Bonham (son of John)Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -

Sounds interesting. Have to check it out.
Dylan's new album, Tempest. Not his best, but lyrically interesting and he's clearly embracing his age.0 -
Oh, and Blunderbuss by Jack White was this year too, wasn't it?0
-
Parkway Drive - Atlas0
-
Jackamo Brown: Oh No. The Drift of the World. Very sparse folk music and probably not to most peoples liking. A nice point of interest is I play all the steel string guitars on it..0

Willits + Sakamoto 'Ancient Future' (Ghostly International)0

Hmmm.
Can't really add much as I only bought 2 new releases.
Joe Bonamassa - Driving Towards The Daylight - Good but after repeated plays it doesn't stand the test IMHO.
Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball - A bit different but definitely a grower. I am biased though having seen the tour in New Jersey.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
Bloc Party+++++++++++++++++++++
we are the proud, the few, Descendents.
Panama - finally putting a nail in the economic theory of the trickle down effect.0 -
-
Star Wheel Press: Life cycle of a falling bird.
because a) it's quite obscure, and b) the front man is a friend0 -
Godspeed you Black Emperor - Allelujah Don't Bend
Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light II
ZZ Top - La Futura (no really)
But I know what the OP means, it's hardly been a stellar year for new albums.0 -
Ellen and the Escapades - All the Crooked Scenes
The Heavy - The Glorious Dead0 -
I have only bought one album released this year. I have spent time re-visiting old stuff.
Bellowhead - Broadside0 -
Alt-J - An Awsome Wave
Tame Impala - Lonerism
Yeasayer - Fragnant World
Grizzly Bear - Shields0 -
If you like the magic of rawk, top hats and Les Pauls, try Apocalyptic Love by Slash (with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators). If you don't - er, don't.0
-
Django Django by Django Django
Lonerism by Tame Impala
Mondo by Electric GuestWinner: PTP Vuelta 20070 -
