Ride them both, it's a lot of money to spend on the opinion of the some strangers on the internet.

I voted Pivot, but that maybe unfair as I've never ridden a Carbine. The 5.7 Alu (Carbon was out at the time) was by far the best bike I've ever ridden - for my style of riding. It climbs and pedals like a short travel XC bike, but with much more to call upon when you head downhill. I wouldn't spend that much money without a demo shoot-out, though, even if I could afford it. [thus sayeth a random stranger on the internet]

  • I voted carbine, just to balance it out.

Seriously though, as Bails says, you really need to try before you buy. Dropping the better part of £2k on a frame you've never tested is lunacy.

Oh, and before Lawman arrives, I'll save him the job and recommend adding the Mojo HD 140 to your list of bikes to try ;)

What he said!! Very good all rounder, whyte 146 is worth consideration too. not a frame only but it runs the HD very, very close, in I fact I would say the geometry is better on the 146 but the DW link is better over small to mid sized hits than the Guad link on the Whyte. Can't go wrong with either though!
  • I know what ur sayin. It's a lot of $$$. Problem is in Hong Kong try before u buy doesn't exist. Customer service is crap until u bring out ur pile of cash. I know it sounds stupid but I'm buying based on reviews n looks only.
