Alternative to a Spesh Toupe?

I'm looking for an alternative saddle to a 143 Toupe. I like the shape, width and cutout but sick to death of the sagging problems. Simply should not happen at this price! It's so frustrating.

I understand the Toupe shape is called flat, and I see other saddles described as round or semi-round such as Prologo. Trying before you buy isn't really an option for me with no stockists nearby. I know saddles are a highly personal choice but has anyone got any similar experiences or comparisons?

Not tried that saddle - but look at the Charge Spoon. Very nice saddle and very cheap too. Seems to suit a lot of riders.

Mine doesn't sag, but then again it's carbon. Just go for the s-works.

  • Yip +1. The S Works is all carbon and doesn't flex so no sagging. It has a bigger cut out to make up for the lack of give. Go for that if you can afford one. JE James have them for £150 just now.

I thought they were supposed to sag a bit as that is how they provide comfort. I have found the Romin to be more comfortable.

I have S-works Toupe and no sagging at all. Find it very comfortable.

Prior to that the most comfortable one I have ever used was a Fizik Arione. Again, no sagging, issues and being quite long, quite easy to change position and get right.

After 80 miles on the Romin I'm ready to murder puppies. The Toupe was designed with my ass in mind.

The Romin seems to be a bit sturdier, but I did find it a bit of a sod to get used to. Fine now, but I am toying with the idea of returning to Toupe which I suspect is a better shape than the Romin. Interesting comments about the S Woeks version - I had feared it would be far too rigid for any comfort to be achieved.

Longest stint I've done on it is 12 hours solid. Works for me.
